Top 5 Music and Audio Apps on Android in Europe, Q3 2024

In the third quarter of 2024, the music and audio app category on Android in Europe showcased notable performances from leading applications, according to Sensor Tower data.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained a strong presence, with weekly revenue starting at approximately $1.3M and steadily increasing to around $1.5M by the end of September. Weekly downloads began at roughly 294K, peaking mid-July at 327K, before experiencing a gradual decline to 260K by the end of the quarter. The app's active users hovered around 64M, with a slight upward trend towards the quarter's end, reaching 65M.

Deezer: Music & Podcast Player saw its weekly revenue grow from about $459K to nearly $497K. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 28K and 39K, while active users recorded a modest increase from 4.7M to 4.8M during the quarter.

SoundCloud: Play Music & Songs reported an upward trajectory in revenue, starting at $108K and climbing to $135K. Downloads showed a similar pattern, beginning at 99K and rising to 117K. The app's active users increased from 3.1M to 3.2M by the end of September.

Apple Music experienced a revenue increase from $88K to $97K over the quarter. Downloads peaked at 140K in August before settling at 53K. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained around 1M throughout the period.

Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts showed modest revenue growth, starting at $80K and reaching $90K. Downloads decreased from 78K to 67K, while the number of active users remained generally stable, ending the quarter at 2M.
